The United Nations has designated May 20 as World Bee Day, to raise awareness on the importance of pollinators and to highlight their contribution to sustainable development and the threats they face. The aim is to strengthen measures aimed at protecting bees and other pollinators, which will greatly contribute to solving problems related to global food supply and eradicating hunger in developing countries.
