College of Medicine

After the issuance of the supreme decree No. (7/87 / m) of (11/3/1419 AH) which authorized merger of the branch of Imam University with the branch of King Saud University in Abha,  to become both under one university named King Khalid University, the College of Medicine was one of the colleges that joined King Khalid University system. 

College of Education

After the issuance of the supreme decree No. (7/87 / m) on (11/3/1419 AH) which authorized the  merger of  the branch of Imam University with the branch of King Saud University in Abha, to become both under one university named King Khalid University, on this basis, the similar colleges and departments  in these two branches were merged. In the same regard, the college of education was divided into two colleges: College of Science and College of Education. In this regard,  College of Education was made to include the following departments: Education, Curriculum and Teaching Methods, Educational Psychology and Special Education.

College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion

To effect the merger, The royal decree  N.O. 7/78/M, was issued to complete all relevant procedures necessary to effect the merger.

 

The Establishment of King Khalid University

The University's first budget was issued on 14/09/1419 AH (02/01/1999 AD) within the general state budget. By that, King Khalid University joined the system of Saudi universities.

 

The Establishment of King Khalid University

He ordered for the merger of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and King Saud University in the Southern Region, into one entity under the new identity of  'King Khalid University' with effect from Tuesday 09/01/1419 AH (06/05/1998 AD).
