KKU 501st in Times Higher Education Ranking and 117th in the International Outlook

King Khalid University ranked 501st in the Times Higher Education University Rankings. The university climbed 300 spots compared to last year, which places it in the 7th spot locally and 117th in the field of international outlook among 1900 Universities from 120 countries.

"This achievement is  part of a bigger plan to reach global success", explains Prof. Hamid bin Majdou Al-Qarni, Vice-President of  King Khalid University’s Higher Education and Research. He adds, "One of the main goals of  Saudi Vision 2030  is to get inducted into the 200 best international universities list by 2030, which will offer the university proper academic prestige and recognition nationally and internationally".

We spoke to the Director of International Rankings Unit, Dr. Sami Al-Shehri, to explain the ranking's criteria. "The ranking is based on five areas, (29.5%) Education, (29%) Research Environment, (30%) Research Quality, (7.5) International Outlook, and (4%) Industry, and includes 18 performance indicators that professionally evaluate all academic and research areas".
