Abu Arad and Ghnome participate in a study on the role of Islamic literature to education.

The Director of the Research Center in the College of Education of King Khalid University, Dr. Saleh bin Ali Abu Arad and his colleague, an Assistant Professor at the Department of Curriculum and Methodologies, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Karim Ghnome have participated in the preparation of an analytical research study under the title "The educational role of Islamic literature in Encountering the Phenomenon of Terrorism". The aim of the study is to fortify the people of our society against a lot of deviant ideas and false doctrines by spreading the culture of social safety and security via literary approaches. The study also aims at identifying the educational role of Islamic literature in encountering the phenomenon of terrorism, and at achieving the best approach to secure security for the Muslim community.

The researchers also summarized the educational role of Islamic literature in encountering the phenomenon of terrorism from several perspectives, the most prominent of which shows the moderate and balance nature of Islam in dealing with various aspects of life. Another perspective is of fortifying the people of the community against the phenomenon through spreading the culture of security and community safety by way of literary approaches. Other aspects deal with identifying adequately the various ideas, doctrines and deviant ideas before they could control the members of the society through rejection of the principle of violence, extremism, terrorism, and divergence, replacing them with solutions of problems and challenges that may face the members of the society. This is to be based on the development of comprehensive and well - studied plans, which will enable those involved in the literary Islamic arts to follow the contemporary problems of young people and to try to solve them in the light of the provisions of the sacred religion of Islam and its instructions.

The study made ​​several recommendations, most notably, to encourage various cultural and literary stakeholders, who are interested in cultural affairs in the community. These cultural affairs' main interest will be to employ literary arts to address the phenomenon of terrorism, eliminate it and help the community to get rid of its risks. Moreover, there should be allocation of an annual award dealing with the field of specialized literary creativity in facing various negative social phenomena. Also, the study recommended emerging different and unique literary works to be accomodated in the curricula and courses in various stages, and these works should focus on, and illustrate the, nature of terrorism, its danger, causes and motive, and how to face, and eliminate it. Additionally, the study recommended the setting up of unique and different literary works via modern media so that we could spread the desired positive culture, and discard all the divergent ways, on the basis of the Islamic religion and its teachings, which calls for the reunion and unity.
