On behalf of King Khalid University President, the University Vice - President for Development and Quality, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jbaili inaugurated the activities of the World Day, the White Stick, under the slogan "our Determination is the insight of our lives". After the inauguration, Al-Jbaili went around the exhibition accompanying the event, where he met a number of blind students who expressed their happiness for holding such events that enhance their role and their needs within the community.

On the occasion, a number of blind students presented some assisting devices that they use in their daily lives, and demonstrated how they use them. After that, Dr. Jbaili and some visitors tried walking with the white stick. Al-Jbaili thanked all the organizers, as well as the holders of the event, and expressed special thanks to the Deanship of Student Affairs represented by its Dean, Dr. Merra Al-Habash. Dr. Al-Jbaili farther said, "This event proves King Khalid University's participation in community service, especially to this dear class of the community, and we will endeavor to provide all their needs as soon as possible. He added, "Senses are determination, thus anyone who has determination, even if he looses a sense, or more, it is enough to help him to reach his goals. The university always strives to provide all the necessary services for this dear group."

The blind, used the occasion to give a word of thanks to the university administration for its concern towards them, and hope that their requests of providing more appropriate services to help them in their educational pursuit will receive positive consideration.
