The 1st National Competition of Photography.

King Khalid University, represented by the General Administration of University Relations, is arranging a photography competition on the occasion of the 84th National Day of Saudi Arabia under the title of "Homeland in a photo". Through these kinds of competitions the university seeks to achieve its roles, first to the community and the whole nation in general, and secondly towards the gifted, professional photographers in particular.

The purpose of ​​the contest is to participate in the Saudi National Day activities by encouraging photographers to inspire this glorious day in their photographs, and to try to perpetuate this day via their cameras.

In this regard, the Supervisor of the General Administration of University Relations, Dr. Mohammed Al-Buhairi has confirmed that the competition aims at promoting patriotism and national loyalty among members of society, showing the university's contribution in this important national events, demonstrating the name of the university in national competitions through involving the most aspects of the competitions and the national activities, encouraging young talents by introducing them to photography and improving their photographic talents, in addition to cooperation with associations and other related institutions.

Al-Buhairi reported, "We will set up a photographic exhibition for the competition, in addition to holding seminars and lectures, associated with the exhibition, and training workshops for young talents of Asir region and university students. Also, we intend to make a booklet to show all participation at the exhibition, in addition to distributing cash prizes estimated at about SR 50,000.00 for first place winners. Concerning the target groups, Al-Buhairi mentioned that it was determined that the competition will target the Saudi universities photographic staff, in addition to the Saudi professionals and those talented in photography, as well as the members of the Associations of Photography in the Kingdom.

It is noteworthy that the organizing committee of the competition has set terms and conditions for entry into the competition. These can be summed up as follows: the contest is open to all Saudi photographers; each participant could participate with three photographic works; participation must express the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; participant must undertake ownership of the photographic work submitted, and if it is proven to be not his work, any won prize regarding the work in question will be confiscated and the person will bear the consequence of legal sanctions. Terms also include previous works that won prizes locally or globally are not acceptable, also, only works that are captured by digital cameras are acceptable. Other terms are filling the attached participation form accurately, and finally that the winning works become the property of the University.

According to the mechanism of the competition, first, one sends his work, with high resolution, through the competition e-mail (cphoto.kku.edu.sa), then the primary sorting committee will sort the accepted works, and will contact the owners of these selected works to send the original copies via the Post Office to the address of the University. Note that, the decision of the sorting committee and that of the Arbitration Committee is final, hence cannot be objected to.
