The University Sponsors the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, sponsored the International Day of Persons with Disabilities titled "The Future is Accessible", organized by the Special Needs Center. The event took place on Thursday at the main campus.

Upon arrival at the ceremony venue, His Excellency used a wheelchair and a white cane to gain an appreciation for the daily challenges of the disabled. Organizers briefed the Rector on the event exhibits, many of which were created by special needs students.

Rector Al-Solamy expressed his gratitude to the Center's staff for their efforts in serving people with Special needs and raising awareness on behalf of persons with disabilities. He also pointed out that the university is honoured to participate in this event and support these valuable programs. The Rector stated that the university is committed to helping the disabled utilize all of their talents and contribute to society regardless of physical limitation or affliction.

As part of the event, the Rector announced the signing of a cooperative agreement between King Khalid University and the Disabled Children Association of Asir. Under the agreement, the organization will jointly develop and sponsor programs and activities that benefit disabled persons in the region. The parties will also provide medical and educational services to affected members of the community.

The Deputy Governor of Asir Region and Development Affairs Assistant, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Sulaiman Al-Duraibi, as well as representatives from the association and the university took part in the signing ceremony.
