Corporate Governance Center Holds Orientation Meeting with Charity Representatives in Asir

King Khalid University, represented by the Corporate Governance Center, held an introductory meeting titled 'Cooperative Charities: Methods & Implementation' in collaboration with the Coordinating Council of Charities. Of noteworthy mention, more than 30 representatives of charity organizations attended.

Vice Rector of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Merzin Al-Shahrani, welcomed the attendees on behalf of the university rector. He confirmed the university's commitment to its role in serving the community and helping charities to achieve their role in society pursuant to Vision 2030. Director of the Corporate Governance Center, Dr. Mari Al-Habash, reiterated the importance of corporate governance and its role in achieving the 2020 National Transformation Program. After, Corporate Governance Company Chief Executive Officer, Nayef Al-Khalifa, discussed the mechanisms of applying governance in charitable societies and reviewed previous experiences in this field. For his part, Secretary-General of the Coordination Council of Charitable Societies, Mr. Ali Hassan Asiri, stressed the support needed from the university to promote charity work and improve administrative efficiency. The meeting was concluded with a panel discussion, which reached a joint agreement to hold periodic training courses.
