Within Anti-cybercrime Conference, the Internet users exceeded 14 million in Saudi Arabia

A working paper presented by Dr. Faiz bin Ali Al-Asmari showed that the number of Internet users in the Kingdom exceeded 14 million and that the Saudi Arabians are the most in using social networks sites during the last quarter of 2014. The number of Internet users in the Kingdom is 14,328,632. In details, 22%, Facebook 21%, and Twitter 19%. This came during a working paper presented at the 2nd International Conference on Anti-Cybercrime, which was organized by King Khalid University during the period from 27 to 28 of this month.

Al-Asmari said that the number of active users of the famous Facebook site is nearly 7 million users, and the average time spent on the Internet daily on laptops, desktops is 4 hours and 57 minutes, while the average use of the Internet via mobile phone is about 3 hours. 51% of the population spends two hours and 48 minutes a day, and 94% of Internet users in the Kingdom have an account on any of the social networks.

With regard to YouTube in the Kingdom, Al-Asmari said that 50% of its users are women, and the number of daily views of the site mentioned more than 900 million, making Saudi Arabia the most country in viewing sections of the site in the world in 2013 and the second in 2014.
