4 Scientific sessions at the 2nd International Conference on Anti- Cybercrime

The sessions of the 2nd International Conference on Anti- Cybercrime which was organized by King Khalid University (KKU) during the period 27-28 of this month, discussed four topics including the evolution of cybercrime, the evolution of risks and threats, as well as the analysis of cybercrime and methods of prevention.

The first session of the conference dealt with the evolution of cybercrime through four scientific papers, including a paper in which Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Rashoud talked about international, national and regional legislative efforts to confront cybercrime. Sheikh Majid Al-Rujaei also presented a scientific paper on cybercrime and its application to the courts. Mr. Abdullah Al Shahran presented a scientific paper entitled "Comparison of national regulations and legislations of combating cyber crimes with regional and global regulations" The first session was concluded by a discussion of a paper entitled "Cyber and Electronic Crimes and Ways to Confront them" by Engineer Bader Al-Qahtani.

The second session was about "The Evolution of Risks and Threats" and witnessed presenting three scientific papers initiated by Eng. Abdullah Al-Asmari, who spoke about protecting individual's information systems from information security threat. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Ghamdi also presented a scientific paper entitled "The increasing threats of cybercrime" The session was concluded by a paper submitted by Sheikh Khalid Al-Sarai entitled "The evolution of risks and threats". On the subject of the analysis of cyber crimes and methods of prevention, 3 papers were discussed. The first discussed the system of cyber crimes and an explanation of some of its items, presented by Engineer Hani Maashi. The second paper dealt with the personal and behavioral characteristics of the cybercrime committers. It was presented by Dr. Saleh Al-Aqeel. Mr. Nayef Al-Madra reviewed the latest papers on the subject of analyzing cybercrime and methods of prevention. The third session discussed "the role of the Investigation and Public Prosecution in cyber crime".

The conference ended with three scientific papers on the theme of awareness and the future of cybercrime, which Dr. Fayez Al Asmari initiated with a paper on the subject of social responsibility to reduce cybercrime resulting from the misuse of social networks and ways of addressing them. Dr. Ghada Auf also presented her paper on "The Internet as a threat to Saudi Arabia"
