His Excellency the Rector of King Khalid University (KKU), Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Salamy, has presided over the first meeting of the University Council for the current academic year, 1437 / 1438 AH. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Saleh, the Secretary General of the Provisional Commission who has shouldered the responsibilities that were assigned to the Council of Higher Education, in addition to university Vice - Presidents, and the deans of colleges and deanships. Via the internet, the deans of girls colleges, who are members in the council, have participated, too.

His Excellency, Al Salamy, opened the meeting by praising God, and with prayer upon the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. Then the Vice President for Health Specialties, who is also the assigned Secretary of the Board, Prof. Khalid bin Saad Al jelban, reviewed the topics that were tabled on the agenda of the meeting.

During the meeting, the final account for the academic year 1436 / 1437 AH was discussed, and there was an approval to the request of scientific connection to a member of the Faculty of Law, as well as the approval of a training course for one of the faculty members of the College of Medicine, in addition to the reinstating of a number of university students, excluding a graduate Yemeni student from the age condition. Also, there was an approval to transfer a female lecturer in Department of English in the Faculty of Arts for Girls in Abha to Dammam University.
