King Khalid University (KKU), represented by the Faculty of Sharia and the fundamentals of Islam, has ended receiving research for participation in the first International Koranic Conference. The conference, which will be held during the period 15 - 17 of Muharram, 1438 AH, aims at using Koranic studies in the treatment of contemporary problems.

More than 140 researches from within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and from a number of Gulf States, and Arab and Islamic world, were approved. All researches centered around six themes which are going to be discussed by the researchers. Researches included the employment of Koranic studies in the treatment of belief, intellectual, political, social, and economic problems, in addition to handling the concept of jihad, as well as issues related to learning and education.

The goals of the conference are focused on connecting the nation to the Holy Quran and considering it the source of life aspects. Moreover, the conference concentrates on highlighting the role of the Kingdom in serving Holy Quran and its Sciences, highlighting the role of the Holy Quran and its studies, in addition to the employment of researchers' potentials, and their efforts to play their role in the treatment of Islamic contemporary issues, and to contribute to the overall advancement of society.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Ali Al shahrani - the Chairman of the Scientific Committee - has explained that the importance of holding such conference was dating back to the fixed truth about the Holy Quran; guiding us to the best in all areas of life. Prof. Dr. Ali Al shahrani further referred, "The Holy Quran undoubtedly shows people the right approach in the treatment of contemporary problems. Those who engraft its verses will find a solution to all the ills of the nation." Dr. Al shahrani stressed that one of the most important images that shows to what extent we are guided by the Holy Quran is relying on it in resolving contemporary problems in various spheres of life (intellectual, social, economic, political, scientific)"
