Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, the Rector of King Khalid University (KKU), the events of the 2^nd Cultural Olympiad have been launched today, Sunday. The Olympiad is organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, and it has the aim of creating spirit of competition among the students of the university in different areas. Areas of competitions include 17 individual competitions and 3 different group competitions. The competitions take place at the University Theater in Abha.

On the occasion, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Meraa Saad Al-Habash, said, "The round of the Olympiad for this year is a continuation to the distinctive success achieved in the first version after the large turnout from the students. Students compete in 20 different areas, including 17 individual competitions, some of which are a part of the competitions of the competitive Scientific Conference for students in higher education in the Kingdom". The Dean added, "These areas were carefully selected to accommodate all abilities, skills, and talents of the students, so as to attract and contain what are characterized in other competitions at the level of Saudi and international universities."

It is worth mentioning that the competitions include Quran contest, recitation, the Sunnah, poetic correspondence, eloquent poetry, old poetry, documentaries, calligraphy, plastic art, cartooning and photography, plastic photography, digital art. "designs" 60 seconds, and the theater is yours. The group competitions are three competitions, namely, Cultural Competition, recitational operetta, and community service.
