Talent and Innovation Center to judge its students' inventions.

The Talent and Innovation Centre at King Khalid University, held last week, "My Idea" effectiveness, to arbitrate the students' participation in 1436 - 1437 AH, within the activities of the Center during the current academic year. The event took place in the Central Stands at the University Headquarter in Abha, while the women's event was held online in the Women Headquarters in Al-Samr.

On the occasion, the Vice - President of the Talent and Innovation Center, Dr. Mohammed bin Khammash Al-Maghribi, explained that, that event was held for the first time in the center, and it was a sort of reviewing ideas, inventions, in addition to the development of previous innovations. The works were displayed in visual presentations through which the student showed his / her idea with a detailed explanation. A jury made up of the teaching staff was formed in order to evaluate the idea, and to assess to what extent it could be applied in reality. Dr. Al-Maghribi added, "After that, a model of innovation was displayed through which the student was prepared for the competition in the competitive meeting at the university, then the University qualified the participants of its students to compete in the next Seventh Scientific Conference." Dr. Al-Maghrabi further stated that five posts would be selected, and prizes would be presented to the winners.

Earlier, a number of university students offered their inventions. A student - Abdullah Alhlavi - presented an idea for his invention which lies in a portable card, carrying a set of ideas which he called E-ID. Another student - Yasser Ahmed Saeed - presented a system to follow facts by RFID technology, while student - Mazen Albassami - presented two ideas from two inventions for smart refrigerators and filtering washing water. There was also a student - Ali Hassan Asiri - who provided an idea to develop dentistry, as well as another student - Abdulaziz Salem - who presented an idea of a solar-powered engine. The presentation of the display continued with the student - Wafaa Al-Shehri - who provided an idea in a device for blood tests collection, while another student - Rafaa Al-Shahrani - provided two inventions which were " my grandmother never sleeps" in addition to the idea of measuring sugar by fingerprint. Last but not the least were two students; Mashaal Khnfor - who provided natural massage jacket, and Samar Yahia - who provided the idea of the moving of an umbrella.

It is noteworthy that the arbitrators of the students' scientific inventions were: Dr. Mohammed Khammash Ahmari, Dr. Hamid Ali Al Ghrama, Dr. Ali Mohamed Al Khzeim, Dr. Torkia Ali Ahmari, and Dr. Nasser Mansour Al-Tyran.
