KKU Concludes the Swimming Championship for Students from 24 Saudi Universities

The competitions of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation Swimming Championship concluded, within the fifteenth season of the Federation's championships. King Khalid University hosted the event over three days at the swimming pools of the University Sports City in Al-Fara'a, Abha, with the participation of (182) swimmers from (24) universities and colleges, and under the supervision of (25) referees. The competition included (17) diverse events.

The Deanship of Student Affairs at King Khalid University organized this sporting event in cooperation with the Saudi Universities Sports Federation, with the participation of more than 30 organizers who contributed to the success of the championship, which witnessed strong competition and outstanding levels of athletic performance.

The final results resulted in the coronation of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University in first place with a total of (581) points, followed by King Abdulaziz University in second place with (498) points, and then King Saud University in third place with (349) points.

As part of its efforts to promote sports activity and expand student participation, the Deanship of Student Affairs organized a number of accompanying tournaments concurrently with the swimming championship, including a mixed doubles table tennis tournament, a chess tournament in cooperation with the Saudi Chess Federation, and a Baloot tournament.

The Deanship also organized two educational workshops, the first entitled "The Role of Sports in the Tourism Sector" presented by Dr. Khaled Al Omar, and the second entitled "Entering University Performance Indicator Data in Physical and Sports Activity" presented by Mr. Ali Al-Manee, all within the framework of developing skills and enhancing knowledge among students and those interested in university sports affairs.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, expressed his thanks to the Saudi Universities Sports Federation for its efforts in serving male and female students in various sports activities, stressing his pride in the distinguished organizational efforts of the Deanship's staff, which befit the level of these national sporting events.

The Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Student Activities, Dr. Saad Al-Qahtani, expressed the university's pleasure in hosting such important sporting events, praising their positive impact on enhancing the competitive spirit among university students, and extending his thanks to His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, and to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, for their continuous support for such events.
