University Concludes its Sports Activities within the "Ajawid 3" Initiative

His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, witnessed the conclusion of the sports activities organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs within the "Ajawid 3" initiative, held at the sports hall in the university city in Al-Fara’a, yesterday evening.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Musfer Al-Qahtani, explained that the Deanship concluded its sports activities, which included the Tenth Sports Olympics, the "Ajawid Global Values" event within the "Ajawid 3" initiative, and the university staff tournament, noting the remarkable participation and attendance of university staff and students.

His Excellency sponsored the conclusion of the "Ajawid Global Values" event, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Vice-Deanship for Student Services, which targeted international students. The event included 14 futsal matches and 4 cultural competitions, with the participation of 160 students from 16 countries. The closing ceremony was attended by approximately a thousand students from more than 40 countries.

His Excellency crowned the Democratic Republic of Congo team with the championship title after their victory in the futsal match against the Thailand team, while the Gambia team won third place.

On the other hand, His Excellency sponsored the conclusion of the Tenth Sports Olympics, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Vice-Deanship for Student Activities, aiming to consolidate the four values launched by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Asir region and Chairman of its Development Authority, which seeks to promote sports and social values. The Tenth Olympics included 18 sports competitions, with the participation of approximately 1,200 students from various colleges.

His Excellency crowned the College of Science team with the championship title after a decisive futsal match against the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion team.

In the same context, His Excellency sponsored the conclusion of the university staff volleyball and table tennis tournament, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the General Directorate of Human Resources. The tournament witnessed outstanding participation from 60 players representing various colleges and departments of the university.

His Excellency crowned the Deanship of Student Affairs staff team with the volleyball championship title, while Dr. Mir Mustafizur Rahman from the Applied College in Abha won first place in the table tennis championship.

It is worth noting that the conclusion of the sports activities came after intense competition among participants in various events over two weeks, and it witnessed a large attendance amidst a sports atmosphere from various university staff and students.
