King Khalid University Hosts an Academic Delegation to Review its 2030 Strategy and the Project for Alignment with the Asir Region Development Strategy

In an effort to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions in the Kingdom, King Khalid University, represented by the Strategy and Initiatives Department, hosted an academic delegation from King Faisal University and Jazan University. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the university's 2030 Strategy and its strategic alignment project with the Asir Region Development Plan, as well as to exchange best practices in strategic planning, performance measurement, and monitoring the implementation of strategic plans. The meeting was attended by the Supervisor of the Strategy and Initiatives Department, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Sayari.

During the visit, the Strategy and Initiatives Department provided a detailed presentation of the university's future directions. The session began by showcasing the journey of building the university's institutional identity under the slogan “A University Towards Globalization”, highlighting the core elements of this identity and its role in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the university environment. The presentation also covered how to establish globalization as a key element that supports the university's strategic vision and helps achieve its ambitious goals.

The discussion covered the stages of designing the university’s 2030 Strategy, from the formulation of the vision and strategic goals to the creation of effective execution plans and mechanisms for regular monitoring to ensure the desired results through accurate performance indicators. One of the key topics was the alignment project between the university's strategy and the Asir Region Development Strategy, where the university's role as a strategic partner in the sustainable development of the region was emphasized. This is achieved through academic, research, and community initiatives that support the region's aspiration to become a global year-round tourist destination.

The visit concluded with a discussion of the university's major achievements in the academic, research, and community service fields. The Strategy and Initiatives Department emphasized that these successes were the result of integrated efforts and teamwork, in addition to the university's commitment to applying the best global practices in strategic planning. The visiting delegation members expressed their admiration for the organization and tangible progress in implementing the strategy, praising King Khalid University’s efforts to enhance institutional excellence and support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
