KKU Commemorates Historical Glories with Heritage and Cultural Events on Founding Day, with the Participation of 50 Student Clubs

The President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, emphasized the role of the Founding Day anniversary in consolidating the values of belonging and loyalty, and enhancing awareness of the Kingdom's rich history and stages of development. He added that the Founding Day anniversary represents a historical milestone that embodies the ancientness of the Saudi state across generations.

This came during his inauguration of the university's celebrations on the occasion of the Founding Day, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with a number of entities within the university, on Monday morning. His Excellency explained that the active participation of King Khalid University in this occasion is in line with its mission to strengthen national identity among students and society, and consolidate the sense of belonging, whether through academic programs or various cultural, artistic and other programs.

His Excellency stressed the university's desire to build a conscious national character, and link the present with the past in ways that contribute to the formulation of a bright future that carries an inspiring vision, stemming from the importance of highlighting the Kingdom's rich cultural and historical heritage. He pointed out that the Founding Day activities are a valuable opportunity to enhance the awareness of the university's students and its community of the national identity and its historical dimensions.

The ceremony, which was held in the honorary area and the Exhibition and Conference Center in Al-Fara’a Branch, witnessed wide participation from various university members, along with a large number of students. The accompanying activities included many heritage, cultural and artistic activities, most notably the Establishment Exhibition, the Fine Arts Exhibition, horse shows, the historical display, in addition to the Founding Day costume shows, the performance shows, the traditional food exhibition, as well as special segments for children, handicrafts, tents, sculpting and visual arts, old-fashioned education, classic cars, decorations and utensils, and live drawing.

The participation of the university’s students, including international students, was clearly visible. 50 student clubs participated in the celebration, and each student club showcased the areas in which it works in light of the Founding Day, as sound and image harmonized into a creative duality that reflected the majesty of the occasion and embodied its value.
