Cooperation Agreement Signed Between King Khalid University and Hilton Hotels

King Khalid University signed a cooperation agreement with Hilton Hotels, a leading global hotel brand. The agreement aims to enhance integration between the two parties in the areas of tourism and hospitality training and development. This collaboration seeks to contribute to the localization of the tourism sector and the qualification of personnel in accordance with the highest international standards.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Reham Mahmoud Mashat, Dean of the College of Tourism and Hospitality at the University, and Mr. Marwan Fadel, Regional Human Resources Director for Hilton Hotels in Saudi Arabia and the Levant, representing the Hilton Group.
Dr. Reham Mahmoud Mashat explained that this agreement aims to provide specialized training programs for students of the College of Tourism and Hospitality at King Khalid University. These programs will cover areas such as culinary arts, hotel management, and sustainable hospitality. The training will involve workshops and practical experience within Hilton hotel facilities. The agreement also includes sharing available job opportunities and providing career guidance to students and graduates to enhance their readiness for the job market.
Dr. Mashat added that the agreement aligns with the strategic direction of King Khalid University to develop educational and training outcomes that meet the requirements of the labor market. It is in line with the first strategic goal of its 2030 executive plan, which aims to improve the quality of education and training to prepare national cadres capable of competing locally and internationally. The agreement also supports the achievement of the objectives of the "Peaks and Valleys" strategy for the development of the Asir region, by empowering the hospitality and tourism sector and enhancing the region's position as an attractive tourist destination for global investments, contributing to sustainable development.
Dr. Mashat further explained that the agreement includes cooperation in the development of academic curricula, by leveraging the expertise of the Hilton Group in updating educational programs and organizing field visits for students. It also includes conducting joint research and studies on sustainable hospitality, event management, and tourism. Additionally, the two parties will cooperate in organizing specialized conferences and seminars to raise awareness of the importance of the tourism sector and its role in supporting the national economy.
