KKU Offers Interactive Programs and Electronic Games at the National History Laboratory in Riyadh
King Khalid University - General Administration of Institutional Communication
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Abdulaziz House, King Khalid University participated in the National History Laboratory, which was held at the Conferences and Exhibitions Center at Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh. This lab aimed to strengthen the national identity by creating technical and creative solutions to document and share the history of the Kingdom, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The university was represented in this event by a selection of its distinguished students: Moayad Issa, Majed Al-Rabei, Ali Al-Hayani, Rimas Al-Dhiban, and Lujain Al-Qahtani. They presented an innovative project, represented in an educational electronic game with historical content. This project highlights the heritage of the Asir region in a simplified and attractive way targeting young people, with the aim of bringing national history closer to the new generations and strengthening their connection to their national identity through creative and unconventional channels.
In addition, university students participated in the exhibition accompanying the events by designing and presenting a group of historical models that embodied the identity and heritage of the Asir region. This participation reflected a mixture of art and history, and showed the students' ability to employ their creativity to serve national values. The event also witnessed the presence of a number of university leaders, including the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Mosfer Al-Qahtani, the General Supervisor of Institutional Communication, Prof. Mufleh Al-Qahtani, and the Director of the Asir Region History Center, Dr. Ali Al-Qutub.
The Director of the Asir Region History Center, Dr. Ali Al-Qutub, explained that the participation of King Khalid University highlights its desire to enrich national values and invest in the students’ abilities to participate in exceptional initiatives that contribute to documenting and preserving national history in innovative ways, which enhances its position in the academic and creative fields in the Kingdom.
It is worth noting that the National History Laboratory witnessed a series of enriching workshops organized by the King Abdulaziz House over three days. The workshops dealt with various topics, including: design thinking, digitizing historical content, storytelling, and drawing historical maps, which reflects the Kingdom's commitment to employing innovation to preserve its historical heritage and pass it on to future generations in a modern and attractive way.
