King Khalid University has secured the top spot among Saudi universities and ranked ninth among approximately 250 government websites in the 2024 Digital Maturity Index, achieving a score of 83.64% and a "Proficient" rating. This achievement was recognized at the third Digital Government Forum, organized by the Digital Government Authority under the theme "Our Future is Now." The university's Vice President for Educational Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed Dajam, and the Dean of the Deanship of E-Services, Dr. Hamid Al-Qahtani, were present to receive the award.

Dr. Hamid bin Saleh Al-Qahtani, Dean of the Deanship of E-Services, explained that this distinction reflects the university's commitment to developing its digital platforms and enhancing the quality of its digital content, aligning with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030. He added that the evaluation was based on two primary criteria: content quality and technical efficiency, according to detailed standards that rely on global and local best practices.

The Digital Maturity Index is a strategic tool used to measure the efficiency and quality of the content of government websites while analyzing technical aspects and performance. This helps enhance the Kingdom's digital presence and enables government entities to improve their website rankings in search engines through advanced mechanisms and innovative methodologies.

In related news, King Khalid University was also honored as one of the most engaged entities in the open-source software repository, reflecting the university's commitment to adopting modern technologies and participating in the development of sustainable digital solutions that promote innovation and excellence.
