KKU Earns First Place in Digital Transformation Index Among Educational and Training Institutions in Saudi Arabia

King Khalid University has secured the first position among 32 institutions in the education and training sector in the Kingdom within the 2024 Government Digital Transformation Index. It also ranked ninth among 226 government entities in the Kingdom.

The university successfully raised its digital maturity level from 89.82% to 93.66%, transitioning from the integration phase to the innovation phase, which represents the highest level of digital maturity for government entities. This achievement reflects the university's commitment to innovation and continuous development in providing digital services.

This accomplishment was announced today during the third edition of the Digital Government Forum, organized by the Digital Government Authority under the theme "Our Future is Now," with the participation of numerous government entities and the attendance of several ministers, as well as a distinguished group of experts, specialists, and decision-makers in the field of digital government at both the local and international levels.

His Excellency, the university president, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, expressed his gratitude to the wise leadership for the great support and attention that the university has received, enabling it to work towards realizing Saudi Vision 2030 by developing digital transformation. He also commended the efforts of the Ministry of Education and the Digital Government Authority. Al-Solami expressed his joy with the university's participation in the Digital Government Forum and his pride in the remarkable achievements it has made in the Digital Transformation Index, praising the pivotal role of the university's Deanship of E-Services in reaching this achievement.

For his part, the Dean of the Deanship of E-Services at the university, Dr. Hamid bin Saleh Al-Qahtani, explained that this achievement is the result of the university's hard efforts to achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and to activate digital transformation to improve the quality of academic services and facilitate them. He extended his gratitude to His Excellency, the university president, for his continuous support and commended the attention and follow-up that the deanship receives from the university's vice president for educational affairs, out of a shared belief in the importance of digital transformation as a culture and practice.
