King Khalid University celebrated the announcement of Saudi Arabia's victory in hosting the 2034 World Cup. The event was attended by His Excellency the University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, a number of university leaders and staff, and a large audience at the University City Conference Center in Al-Fara'a.

The university announced the availability of screens to watch the moments of the announcement of the host country for the 2034 World Cup. Immediately after the announcement of Saudi Arabia's victory, accompanying events were launched through performing arts, balloon launches, and laser shows. A number of university buildings were also illuminated with the event's identity.

His Excellency extended his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may Allah protect them - on the official announcement of Saudi Arabia's victory in hosting the 2034 World Cup.

Al-Solami affirmed that this great national achievement reflects the ambitious vision of our wise leadership, which believes in Saudi Arabia's ability to achieve leadership in various fields, noting that the Saudi file receiving the highest technical evaluation in the history of hosting this global event by the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) embodies this ability and reflects this excellence.

He added, "Winning the hosting of this historic tournament comes within the framework of the qualitative transformations witnessed under Vision 2030, whose goals include human development, enhancing Saudi Arabia's position on the global stage, and making sports a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development. This achievement also reflects Saudi Arabia's ambition to develop a high-level sports infrastructure, including modern stadiums and facilities capable of hosting a sporting event of this magnitude."

Al-Solami stressed that this ambition is not limited to the organizational aspect but extends to providing an exceptional experience for all participants, including teams, fans, and delegations. It is an opportunity to present Saudi Arabia's message to the world, with its rich culture, authentic values, and the hospitality that distinguishes its great people.

He continued, "Today, we are facing a historic moment that embodies Saudi Arabia's ambitions and passion for development and excellence. Hosting the 2034 World Cup is not merely a global sporting event but a platform to highlight Saudi Arabia's vision and message to the world, and to affirm its pivotal role in promoting sports culture and developing football at the regional and international levels."

Al-Solami concluded by saying, "We renew our congratulations to the dear kingdom for this achievement that strengthens its journey towards leadership and affirms its position as a global destination. We are proud in the Asir region - under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Region and Chairman of its Development Authority, and His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Sattam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Region - with the selection of King Khalid University Stadium among the stadiums that will host the 2034 World Cup matches. Saudi Arabia's victory in this historic hosting will remain a source of pride and inspiration, and a model to be followed in achieving national ambitions at all levels, and a beacon that inspires future generations to continue the journey of excellence."
