King Khalid University Hosts a Discussion Panel and Exhibition to Commemorate International Anti-Corruption Day

His Excellency, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, President of King Khalid University, attended a discussion panel titled "The Importance of Protecting Integrity". The university organized this panel in collaboration with the National Anti-Corruption Commission, coinciding with International Anti-Corruption Day, at the university's Al-Fara'a campus.

The panel was moderated by Dr. Mohammad bin Jaser Al-Riyahi, Vice Dean of the College of Law for Research and Graduate Studies. Participants included Mr. Saleh bin Mohammad Al-Zahrani, Director General of the National Anti-Corruption Commission in Bisha Governorate, and Dr. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Hajri, Dean of the College of Law at King Khalid University.

The celebration of International Anti-Corruption Day began with a visual presentation prepared by the student media team, under the supervision of the General Directorate of Institutional Communication and in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs. The presentation showcased the efforts of the Student Integrity Club in raising awareness about the values and principles of integrity, thereby promoting integrity and transparency at the university and community levels.

Following the presentation, Dr. Mohammad bin Jasr Al-Riyahi opened the panel with a welcoming speech in which he thanked the guests and commended the efforts of the university's students who excelled in organizing various awareness activities, ranging from on-campus activities to field visits to raise awareness among various segments of society. He also emphasized the university's ongoing commitment to achieving sustainable global goals, in line with the theme of International Anti-Corruption Day 2024, "United against corruption for a corruption-free future."

In the first segment of the panel, Mr. Saleh bin Muhammad Al-Zahrani, Director General of the National Anti-Corruption Commission in Bisha Governorate, presented a paper on the concept of professional integrity and its importance in preventing corruption. He explained that integrity is not merely a professional obligation but an ethical and religious value that should be an integral part of individuals' behavior in all their positions. He also highlighted the role of integrity in promoting transparency and avoiding violations and suspicions of corruption, noting the importance of clear administrative policies in achieving job loyalty and adhering to values such as sincerity, discipline, and loyalty to the nation.

In the second segment, Dr. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Hajri, Dean of the College of Law at King Khalid University, addressed topics related to the rules of professional conduct and public office ethics. He discussed administrative and financial violations and how to prevent them, and he also reviewed the system of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, explaining its role in enhancing the work environment and achieving integrity.

The discussion panel concluded with His Excellency the University President honoring the speakers and guests in appreciation of their distinguished contributions. An awareness exhibition showcasing the values of integrity, prepared by the students of the Central Integrity Club, was also organized to serve as an awareness platform aimed at fostering a culture of integrity among attendees.
