On behalf of the Minister of Education, the President of King Khalid University, Professor Dr. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Solami, chaired the third meeting of the University Council for the academic year 1446 on Tuesday 3/12/2024. The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Universities Affairs Council, Professor Dr. Bassam bin Abdullah Al-Bassam, along with the members of the University Council.
The Vice President of King Khalid University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Secretary of the University Council, Professor Dr. Hamed bin Majdooa Al-Qarni, stated that the council discussed the agenda items and issued the necessary recommendations. These included approvals for secondments, service extensions, early retirements, service transfers, and sabbaticals for a number of faculty members. The council also approved the reformation of the Student Fund Council and renewed the membership of the Audit Committee.
Additionally, the council approved the recommendations of the Audit Committee as outlined in its eleventh meeting for the fiscal year 2024, along with the recommendations of the Investment Committee from its fourth and fifth meetings for the fiscal year 2024. Furthermore, the council approved the promotion of several university employees to higher ranks.
During the meeting, the council also endorsed the university’s scholarship regulations and policies. It approved graduate programs available for admission, as well as the criteria and the number of students proposed for the academic year 1447. Lastly, the council approved a number of memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements with universities in several countries.
