King Khalid University Honors Students with Local and International Awards

King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Salami, honored a group of talented and creative students who achieved distinguished accomplishments and top rankings in local and international competitions. The ceremony took place at the University City in Al-Fara’a and was attended by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Saad bin Mohammed bin Du’ajam, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani.

In his speech, the University President expressed pride and appreciation for the honored students, emphasizing that they represent exemplary models of creativity and excellence. He highlighted the university’s commitment to recognizing student efforts and encouraging continued innovation in various fields. The President also noted that these students serve as ambassadors for the university, showcasing its excellence on both local and international stages. He reaffirmed that the university's role extends beyond education to fostering talent and supporting promising individuals who contribute to building a better future.

The President called on everyone to continue identifying and supporting talented students, stressing that creativity is the cornerstone of achieving distinction and leadership. He expressed hope that these achievements would mark the beginning of a long journey of future successes.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, thanked the University President and Vice President for Academic Affairs for their continuous support and encouragement of talented students. He underscored that this support is fundamental in creating an environment that fosters creativity and innovation. He also highlighted that this recognition reflects the spirit of excellence and distinction that students strive to uphold in various forums. The Dean reaffirmed the commitment to nurturing outstanding students and motivating them to inspire their peers and achieve more accomplishments that enhance the university’s reputation locally and internationally.

In 2024, students earned a total of 21 diverse awards, including nine gold medals and six silver medals, as well as top rankings in innovation, inventions, translation, and medical sciences. Among the honorees:

  • Yazan Awad Al-Shamrani: Third place in the Gulf Science Forum in Oman.

  • Ziad Khalid Al-Asiri: Gold medal at the International Inventions and Innovations Exhibition in Jeddah.

  • Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Muzayel: Best Young Innovator Award 2024 from Singapore and a gold medal in Aerospace Engineering at the "ITEX" International Exhibition.

  • Mubarak Al-Shahrani, Hala Al-Asmeri, Wahj Al-Asmeri, Abdullah Al-Hammad, and Waleed Al-Hamood: Fourth place in the Maida Muhyiddin Nazer Innovation Award.

  • Rahaf Hamed Al-Shahrani: Second place in Princess Noura University’s Translation Competition.

  • Asma Fahad Al-Qahtani: Third place in the same competition.

In scientific innovation:

  • Saja Al-Asmeri and Sarah Al-Shahri: First place in the Health Hackathons Competition.

  • Basel Atiyah Al-Ghamdi: Silver medal at the Geneva International Inventions Exhibition in the field of Translational Medical Sciences.

  • Rafeef Ayed Al-Shahrani: Five gold medals at the Indonesian Inventions Exhibition 2024.

  • Badria Ayed Al-Shahrani: Sheikh Mohammed bin Saleh bin Sultan Award for Academic Excellence and Creativity in Special Education.

Further honorees include:

  • Hasel Al-Asmeri and Naif Al-Qahtani: Gold medals.

  • Rayan Al-Qahtani: Silver medal at the Geneva International Inventions Exhibition.

  • Shaimaa Al-Qarni, Maram Al-Qahtani, Shaimaa Al-Asiri, and Rimaz Al-Ghamdi: Silver medals at the same exhibition.

These achievements underscore King Khalid University's commitment to fostering excellence, innovation, and creativity among its students, paving the way for further successes on the global stage.
