KKU Masters Tourism Media Program Receives EURHOQUAL Comprehensive Quality Certificate

King Khalid University’s master’s tourism media program from the Media and Communication Department at the College of Humanities, recently received the EURHOQUAL comprehensive quality certificate from the European Association for Tourism and Hospitality, EURHODIP. This Achievement highlights the program as one of the first academic programs in the kingdom to receive this certificate. This was announced during the yearly conference of the association, which was held recently in Tunis.
In addition, the university, represented by the master’s tourism media program, received a membership in the European Association for Tourism and Hospitality, making it the first Saudi university to receive this membership. This achievement reflects the quality and excellence of the university’s programs and further develops the university’s specialized cadres in tourism media to enrich and support the tourism sector in the kingdom.
The masters media tourism program aims to integrate modern concepts of media with the needs of the developing tourism sector in the kingdom. It works to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to keep pace with the job market of the field, with a focus on promoting national tourism attractions. The program also aims to enrich knowledge of media through modern technology, and to implement digital media strategies in support of tourism marketing.
Head of the Media and Communication Department at the university, Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al-Zuhair, confirmed that receiving this certificate is an international recognition of the program’s academic excellence and the quality of its curriculum. He also explained that this achievement comes after a thorough evaluation of the curriculum’s quality, the faculty’s qualification, and the graduates’ competence in the field. He added that this achievement cements the program’s reputation nationally and internationally, and will broaden horizons for further cooperation with various institutions and international universities. In addition to providing better employment opportunities for tourism graduates.
Dr. Essa Al-Mustanir, Assistant Professor in the department, program coordinator, and accreditation file manager, pointed out that this achievement crowns the university’s unwavering efforts to develop its academic position and to develop its programs according to international standards. He also confirmed that the program will continue to develop study plans in line with the latest developments in the fields of media and tourism.
It is worth noting that the Media and Communication Department at the University provides 7 exceptional bachelor and masters’ programs, and oversees “AFAQ” newspaper that is published by the university periodically.
