University Ranks 75th Internationally in the Times Interdisciplinary Sciences Classification for the Year 2025

In a significant achievement that reflects its ambition, King Khalid University ranks 75th internationally in the Times' inaugural classification for interdisciplinary sciences for the year 2025. This classification is considered a substantial step that reflects the increased interest in enhancing collaboration between the international academic and research sectors, allowing universities to merge interdisciplinary sciences to achieve a shared vision that addresses global issues such as climate change, public health, and sustainable development.
On his part, the university's Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Hamid bin Majdou Alqarni, explained that this achievement is the result of the consistent efforts devoted to merging different disciplines and research. He added, “We are committed to building a foundation of research that supports finding applicable solutions to development and societal issues. This classification highlights the importance of collaborating to achieve the university’s vision of becoming a beacon for leadership and innovation."
Alqarni commended His Excellency Prof. Dr. Falih bin Raja Allah Al-Sulami, President of King Khalid University, for his immense efforts in advancing the university’s excellence and pursuing global competitiveness in line with international classification standards, believing in the crucial role that education plays in achieving Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
In the same context, the supervisor of the International Classification Unit at the university, Dr. Mohammed bin Saied Alqahtani, affirmed that achieving this rank is the result of strategic planning and the collective efforts of the university community. He noted that the university is working toward developing its scientific research by enhancing international collaborations and supporting innovation. He stressed that this classification represents a landmark in the university’s journey toward achieving academic and research excellence.
It is worth noting that the Times Interdisciplinary Classification is the largest in the history of the inaugural Times organization rankings, including 749 universities from 92 countries. It is considered an important international platform for the classification of universities. This classification is a unique initiative that aims to improve scientific collaborations between universities on both a regional and global scale.
