Cultural Olympiad events Launched.

On Sunday morning 22/2/1436 AH, the Cultural Olympiad of King Khalid University in Abha was launched under the slogan "Innovators' race". Male and female University students who are attending regularly in the Bachelor and diploma degrees are participating in the Olympiad. It included 16 competitive areas among them: the recitation of Holy Quran and explanation or commentary on the Sunnah, cultural competitions, the recitation operetta, poetry, eloquent poetry, classic poetry, community service, documentaries, calligraphy, plastic painting, cartooning, photography, plastic imaging, as well as digital art (designs), some of which are within the contests of the competitive scientific conference for Higher Education students in the Kingdom. Students will be able to participate in a maximum of two areas of the competition.
The aim of the "Innovators' race" is to cherish the students' talents, in addition to providing a convenient environment for competition, which will pioneer and guarantee their development, and put them on the right track on how to highlight their talents according to certain flexible guidelines and regulations. The Olympiad included all creative aspects as well as an objective way of calculating the points for each program or activity of the Olympics as were described during the announcement of the competition.
On this regard, the Dean of student Affairs of King Khalid University Dr. Merrai Al-Habash said, "Fair competition has a significant impact on discovering a talent and developing it." He added, "the Deanship has set up the 1st Olympiad and sought to diversify its areas in order to accommodate a large segment of students (male and female) as well as taking care of developing, improving, and evaluating their creative talents, which were classified under 16 competitive areas.
It is noteworthy that the competition will continue till Monday evening, 23/2/1436 AH, and will be concluded next Tuesday 24/2/1436 AH, with presenting the winners, the shield of King Khalid University President.
