University to raise awareness of more than 700 persons of AIDS.

The King Khalid University Vice - President for Health Specialties Prof. Khalid Bin Saad Al jilban sponsored the activities of anniversary of the World AIDS Day, which was organized by Medical and creativity Club at the Faculty of Medicine in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs. The venue was at the Oasis Center Mall. The event is marked on the 1st of December of each year. The purpose of such activity is to raise awareness of AIDS disease, and determine ways to prevent it, and how to be safe and sound while dealing with those infected with the virus.
Aljilban appreciated the Medical and Creativity Club's efforts to achieve its noble mission, lofty humanitarian objectives in supporting AIDS patients and making the resolve to confront the complications of the disease in addition to moral giving support to families of victims . He stated, "The Saudi society has always proved to be a community of compassion, goodness and giving, thus actualizing the principle of social solidarity which is recommended by our religion ". The Vice - President thanked those who took the initiative to spread community education about the disease, calling on God - the Almighty - to accept their benevolent actions and reward them with good deeds. He wished the club success and called on it to continue its humanitarian services.
On this regard, a member of the Medical and creativity Club, and the spokesman for the club Majid Subaie emphasized that the club was keen to disseminate health education for all members of the society on the most important health issues, which began to appear recently on the surface: Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). He said, "coinciding with the World AIDS Day, the Club has launched a comprehensive campaign entitled "My community supports me", which included many events, lectures, and educational seminars. The purpose of the campaign was to spread awareness culture to the community about the disease". He added, "The exhibition is an extension of the three week activities of the club, which was launched since Monday 09-02-1436 AH corresponding to 01-11-2014 AD, noting that the primary goal is to communicate with the community to raise awareness of the disease. He reported that the exhibition received, during first day, more than 700 visitors".
The events of the International Day of AIDS was concluded in Abha University City, while the club is preparing for the deployment of mobile campaign teams for mobile mobile exhibitions to a number to secondary schools to ensure the awareness content reach all segments of society.
