Under the patronage of His Excellency, King Khalid University Acting President Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dujam, King Khalid University launched its Medical Consultation Caravan at Mojan Park mall in Khamis Mushait on November 1st. The Medical Consultation Caravan is an initiative designed to provide direct medical services and consultations to the largest number of beneficiaries in the Asir region's community. This effort aligns with KKU’s Strategy 2030, which aims to elevate the quality of life and encourage a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
Organized by the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha, in collaboration with the College of Dentistry, the College of Nursing, the Medical City, and the Deanship of Student Affairs, this initiative aims to address the medical needs of individuals in the Asir community and offer one-on-one medical advice.
On a more detailed note, the caravan provided a variety of services, with extensive student participation, including medical consultations in family and community medicine. Participating doctors offered direct medical consultations aimed at raising awareness about the prevention of chronic diseases and the importance of regular check-ups. The caravan also included comprehensive health awareness programs covering various medical specialties, such as rehabilitation, which aims to help individuals enhance their mobility and physical capabilities while providing advice on how to prevent common injuries and improve quality of life.
Furthermore, introductory sessions were held on the importance of diagnostic imaging examinations and their role in the early detection and treatment of diseases. In the field of medical tests, the significance of laboratory tests in the early diagnosis of diseases and the assessment of individuals' health data was clarified. The campaign also played an effective role in promoting health education by providing lectures and health tips that focus on adopting healthy lifestyles, preventing diseases, and enhancing public health. The aim was to raise community awareness and motivate it toward adopting sustainable health practices that improve the quality of life.
Among the services offered by the caravan was a mobile dental screening clinic, where visitors had the opportunity to receive direct dental check-ups. Information booths were also set up within the mall for each participating college to provide their services, enriching the visitors' experience, meeting their health needs, and enhancing their health awareness in an interactive and comprehensive educational environment.
