KKU Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information

King Khalid University signed a memorandum of cooperation with the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information, aiming to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of surveying and geospatial information. The university was represented by its Acting President, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, while the authority was represented by its President, Eng. Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sayel. The agreement was signed as part of the activities of the National Geospatial Platform Forum 2024, which was recently held in Riyadh. The signing was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Saeed Al-Qahtani, and the college’s Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Saad Al-Jabbar.
The Dean of the College of Engineering explained that the signing of the memorandum aims to organize and develop work in the field of surveying and geospatial information, enhancing integration between the two parties, contributing to unifying efforts and achieving spending efficiency. He confirmed that the agreement includes several areas, most notably the exchange of geospatial data and information, cooperation in research and studies, developing national competencies in this field, and organizing specialized seminars and conferences.
Al-Qahtani emphasized that this agreement is an important step towards enhancing joint work between the two parties to develop the geospatial infrastructure and improve performance in this vital sector. He pointed out that the memorandum will contribute to providing innovative solutions that support sustainable development, and will also provide training and educational opportunities to enhance the efficiency of national cadres in the fields of surveying and geospatial data.
