Saudi Universities Chess League Championship 2024 Comes to an End

King Khalid University concluded the Saudi Universities Chess League Championship 2024 (female students' category) on Friday, the 25th of October 2024. The championship, which was hosted by King Khalid University and organized by the Saudi Universities Sports Federation, included more than 100 contestants from over 30 universities and was held over three days, from the 23rd to the 25th of October.

In the presence of King Khalid University President and consultant for female campuses, Dr. Khlood Abu Melha, and the Vice Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs, Dr. Areej Ayed Al-Buher, the Saudi Universities Sports Federation consultant and director of the Chess League Championship, Dr. Nouf bint Mohammed Al-Hamad, presented the championship awards. Student Masheal Al-Tamimi from King Saud University secured first place, winning the gold medal, the championship gold cup, and an award of 4,000 SAR. In second place, Shurooq Ali Al-Rasheedi from Hail University won the silver medal and an award of 3,000 SAR, while in third place, Tala Abdulhadi Al-Wasabi from Taibah University won the bronze medal and an award of 2,000 SAR.

On her part, Dr. Nouf bint Mohammed Al-Hamad commended the event's articulate organization and the positive competition demonstrated by the contestants. She also thanked King Khalid University and its Deanship of Student Affairs for their dedication and efforts in hosting the league and the success they achieved. Al-Hamad stressed that all sports in different areas are of great importance to students, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes the quality of life for citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
