University Council Approves Executive Regulations for Scientific Research and Innovation and Forms a Scientific Integrity Committee

On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Acting President of King Khalid University, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Du’ajam, chaired the second meeting of the University Council for the academic year 1446, on Sunday. The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Council of Universities Affairs, Prof. Bassam bin Abdullah Al-Bassam, and the members of the University Council.

Prof. Hamed bin Majdou’ Al-Qarni, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research and Secretary of the University Council, stated that the council discussed the agenda items and made the necessary recommendations. These recommendations included approvals for scholarships, extensions, terminations, and the inclusion of a number of teaching assistants and lecturers, as well as approval for service extensions, secondments, academic connections, and exceptional leaves for some faculty members. Additionally, the council approved the reformation of the permanent committee for scholarships and training, and the permanent committee for postgraduate studies at the university.

The council also approved the formation of a committee for research chairs and the establishment of the permanent committee for scientific integrity.

Furthermore, the University Council approved the executive regulations for scientific research and innovation at King Khalid University. It also adopted the recommendations of the Investment Committee as stated in its third meeting for the fiscal year 2024 and approved the update of the investment plan for the current fiscal year 2024.

Among the recommendations of the University Council was the inclusion of Dr. Adel bin Muneea Al-Futais, Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy, in the permanent committee for affairs related to teaching assistants, lecturers, language instructors, and research assistants. The council also included Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Rajhi, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Dhafir Ali Al-Qahtani, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, as members of the College of Engineering Council for the academic year 1446. The council also approved the recommendations of the Institute of Consulting Studies and Services regarding contracts for implementing various projects.
