King Khalid University’s Culinary Showcase Captures Attention at the International SIRA Exhibition in Riyadh

King Khalid University's College of Tourism and Hospitality made a significant impact at the inaugural Middle East edition of the SIRA International Exhibition held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center from October 1-3, 2024. The college's participation served as a platform to showcase the exceptional culinary skills and artistry of its students.
The college's wing featured a diverse array of traditional Saudi dishes and hot and cold beverages, reflecting the rich heritage of the Kingdom with a contemporary twist that aligns with the latest trends in hospitality and culinary arts. Visitors were able to savor these delicacies, expertly prepared by the college's students themselves, demonstrating a high level of creativity and professionalism, especially considering the program's recent inception.
The college's wing also showcased a documentary film that chronicled the establishment of the college and its rapid growth over the past year. The film highlighted the college's state-of-the-art educational facilities, including smart classrooms and virtual labs, which are integral to its digital transformation strategy. The film also featured the college's educational hotel, which provides students with real-world training experiences. Additionally, the college distributed brochures that highlighted its diverse offerings and its commitment to enhancing the students’ experience and preparing graduates for successful careers.
Dr. Reham Mushat, Dean of the College of Tourism and Hospitality at King Khalid University, emphasized that despite its recent launch, the college is steadily progressing towards excellence in providing innovative educational programs in tourism and culinary arts. She noted that the quality of the academic programs and the advanced training tools offered by the college enable students to acquire the skills necessary to compete in local and global markets.
Dr. Mushat further added that the college is committed to expanding its presence in local and international forums, solidifying its position as one of the most promising academic institutions in the Kingdom. She highlighted that this participation represents a step towards building a distinguished national cadre capable of contributing to the development of the tourism and hospitality sector, building on the college's vision of innovation and quality to achieve leadership in this vital field.
