Minister of Education Honors King Khalid University for Outstanding Performance in University Sports Index

His Excellency, the Minister of Education, Mr. Yosef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, honored King Khalid University, represented by its Acting President, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Mosfer Al-Qahtani, and the deanship team. This recognition was in appreciation of the outstanding performance of the Deanship of Student Affairs and its top positions in the University Sports Performance Index for the 14th Saudi sports season. This honor comes as a result of the university's exceptional performance, which was evaluated based on several criteria, including participation in local competitions, hosting federation tournaments, sports and competitive activities, physical and recreational activities, and capacity development.
King Khalid University secured sixth place in the men's competitions, out of 51 participating government and private universities and colleges. It also achieved tenth place in the women's competitions among 49 government and private universities and colleges, reflecting a noticeable improvement in the university's sports performance compared to the 13th sports season, where it ranked 25th in men's competitions and 34th in women's competitions.
The university demonstrated exceptional results in some sports, such as taekwondo, chess, goalball for people with disabilities, and football. Some university students also excelled in individual competitions, winning gold and silver medals, which enhances the university's sports standing among Saudi universities.
The Acting President of King Khalid University, expressed his pride and appreciation for the university's outstanding sports achievements at the level of Saudi universities. He pointed to the significant contribution of the wise leadership in supporting the march of education in the Kingdom, which prioritizes university sports to prepare a generation capable of excelling in various fields.
Bin Dajam added, "This honor that we have received from His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yosef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, is the result of great support from our wise leadership and the interest and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Asir, and His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Sattam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Governor of Asir, who provide all support to elevate all sectors in the region, especially university education and sports."
He also affirmed that this sports achievement is the culmination of a continuous journey of successes and unlimited aspirations, noting that the university is moving forward with hard work and dedication to consolidate its leading position by supporting its students and providing all the capabilities to achieve further success in the future.
