King Khalid University Organizes "We Will Not Forget You" Event to Mark International Day of Elders

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized an event titled "We Will Not Forget You" to coincide with the International Day of Elders.
The event, held at Lavanda Park, was inaugurated by Dr. Majid bin Saad Al-Faia’, Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha, in the presence of faculty members, students, and visitors. The event included a variety of activities tailored for the elderly, as well as the distribution of publications and the presentation of awareness programs.
The event also featured explanations about the importance of the college's departments in diagnosing and treating age-related diseases, as well as introducing speech-language pathologists and their role in addressing speech impairments in the elderly. Information was also provided about physical therapy specialties and guidelines for purchasing and using hearing aids. As part of the event, students and faculty members from various departments conducted hearing tests and screened for diabetes and blood pressure for interested visitors.
It is worth noting that the event was attended by a large number of interested individuals and specialists who exchanged ideas and perspectives on how to improve the quality of life for the elderly and support this important segment of society. They affirmed that the International Day of Elders serves as a reminder for all of us to respect and appreciate the wisdom and experience that the elderly possess, and to work together to create a society that ensures a dignified life for them, filled with activity, positivity, and health.
