Coinciding with its 50th Anniversary, the College of Sharia at King Khalid University Organizes the Conference "Sharia Studies and the Question of Development in Light of Vision 2030"

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, will organize the conference "Sharia Studies and the Question of Development in Light of Vision 2030" next Tuesday, September 24. The conference will run for two days at the Exhibition and Conference Center at the University City in Al-Fara’a.
The University's Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, Professor Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, explained that the conference aims to draw the attention of researchers and interested parties to the importance of achieving the dual relationship between civilizational and religious development. It also seeks to establish the religious foundations for concepts such as development, society, economy, nation, and Vision 2030, derived from the Quran and Sunnah. Additionally, it highlights the importance of Sharia studies within the Colleges of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion in addressing societal issues, demonstrates the role of Sharia studies in developing the Kingdom's economy, and showcases the value of Sharia studies in the nation's growth and prosperity. The conference also aims to explore future prospects for the Kingdom in the post-2030 era and emphasizes the value of Sharia studies in providing solutions to contemporary challenges and issues. He noted that the conference is part of a series of significant scientific conferences presented by the university this year across various fields.
In turn, the Dean of the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, Professor Dr. Muhammad bin Ali Al-Qarni, stated that the conference's topics discuss the role of Sharia colleges in achieving Vision 2030, the importance of Sharia studies in addressing societal issues, the role of Sharia studies in the Kingdom's economic development, future prospects for the Kingdom, and the value of Sharia studies in the nation’s development and prosperity.
Al-Qarni added that the conference coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, which, thanks to God and then to the support of the wise leadership, has become a beacon of knowledge and an important center for Sharia research. It hosts male and female students from over 40 countries worldwide, enrolled in various academic degrees.
Al-Qarni expressed his appreciation for the support and attention the conference has received from the Acting President of King Khalid University, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, and from the University's Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, Professor Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, as well as other university entities. He also praised the efforts of the researchers, participants, and the committees involved in organizing the conference, noting that 23 academic papers will be presented across six sessions.
It is worth mentioning that the conference will be attended by a number of esteemed specialists and experts in the field, as well as deans of Sharia colleges from Saudi universities.
