King Khalid University and the General Authority of Defense Development Discuss Cooperation
King Khalid University - General Administration of Institutional Communication
His Excellency, The Governor of the General Authority of Defense Development, Dr. Faleh bin Abdullah Al-Sulaiman, met the Acting President of King Khalid University, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, at the University Campus in Al-Fara’a. The meeting was attended by the University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Hamid bin Majdou’ Al-Qarni.
During the meeting, they discussed the strategic partnership between them in common fields, including the authority’s activity in technology, defense and military systems, in addition to establishing programs and projects.
The authority’s roles and tasks were presented during the meeting, in addition to the expected roles of the university in the fields of research, development, and innovation, in line with the authority’s activity in these fields. Both parties discussed the possible ways of cooperation between them, as His Excellency and his delegation were briefed on university facilities and research centers.
His Excellency explained that the authority is highly invested in its cooperation with national universities in the field of defense development. He added that the authority works hard to bridge the gap between universities and development centers and the military industry, which enriches national universities’ stance in defense development. He praised the university’s achievements in research, human capabilities, and infrastructure. In addition to the University Strategy, as it takes the university's capabilities and environment into consideration.
On his end, the Acting President of King Khalid University, welcomed the governor and his delegation and invited them to inspect the university's capabilities, and look into ways of cooperation to innovate in areas of mutual interest. He pointed out that the university is proud to partner with the authority through its research, cadres, infrastructure, and innovation.
