KKU Institute of Studies and Consulting Services Concludes a Series of Training Courses on Procurement Systems and Technical and Financial Proposals

The Institute of Studies and Consulting Services at King Khalid University recently concluded two training courses titled "Procurement and Tendering System" and "Preparation of Technical and Financial Proposals," which lasted for four days and were attended by 44 trainees. The courses were presented by Mr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleem and focused on four main areas related to the governmental tendering system: the preparation of technical proposals, financial proposals, success strategies, and proposal presentation.
Participants included staff from King Khalid University, as well as representatives from several regional entities such as the Emirate of Asir Region, the Asir Development Authority, the Sudair Development Company, the Health Cluster, and the Abha Chamber of Commerce. The courses aimed to enhance skills and knowledge in a range of disciplines, contributing to the development of a knowledgeable and professional community in the region.
On the first day of the training course, an introduction to the governmental tendering and procurement system was provided, highlighting the system's role in promoting transparency and equal opportunities. The legal and regulatory framework related to governmental tenders was also covered. The second day focused on writing technical proposals, with a detailed explanation of technical proposal concepts, including drafting a comprehensive introduction, writing objectives, scope, timeline, and budget.
The third day addressed financial proposal writing, explaining how to prepare financial estimates, detailing direct and indirect costs, and using financial models and tables. On the fourth and final day, strategies for successful proposal submission and negotiation were emphasized. Participants received advice on presenting competitive and effective proposals, avoiding common mistakes in proposal writing, and engaged in practical exercises on professional proposal presentation and negotiation. Certificates were awarded to those who successfully completed the course.
Dr. Maqbool bin Ali Al-Olayani, Dean of the Institute of Studies and Consulting Services, stated that the institute is committed to offering the best to the community through diverse training courses. These courses not only enhanced skills and knowledge but also provided an opportunity for exchanging experiences and building a network of professional relationships that contribute to the development of all participants.
