King Khalid University Ranks Among Top 500 Universities Globally in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024

King Khalid University has secured a distinguished position among the top 500 universities globally (401-600) in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024. This ranking is based on the universities' contributions to achieving the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and utilizes comprehensive criteria encompassing scientific research, effective education, responsible employment engagement, and international collaboration.
Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at King Khalid University, Prof. Hamid bin Majdou'a Al-Qarni, explained that this remarkable progress reflects the university's unwavering commitment to achieving excellence in education and scientific research and highlights the quality of the programs it offers.
Al-Qarni attributed this achievement to the university's continuous efforts and well-structured strategies aimed at aligning with international standards and sustainable development goals through the educational and research processes. He extended his appreciation to the Acting President of King Khalid University for his continuous support in this regard and expressed his gratitude to all the working teams, departments, colleges, and administrations that contributed to this outstanding achievement, commending everyone's dedication and ongoing efforts that have helped the university reach this advanced level.
On his part, Supervisor of the International Rankings Unit at the university, Dr. Mohammad bin Saeed Al-Qahtani, shed light on the technical details of the evaluation, explaining that "the university was assessed based on several indicators, including academic reputation, industry engagement, research impact, and the university's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility standards." Al-Qahtani affirmed that the university has witnessed significant improvements in research, quality of education, work environment, participation in economic growth, and international partnerships.
