KKU Ranks 111th Among Young Universities and 127th Among Asian Universities in the Times Rankings 2024

King Khalid University earned the 111th place among young universities globally, according to the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. It has also earned the 127th place among Asian universities according to the same institution's (THE Asia University Rankings) data.
Vice President of King Khalid University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hamid bin Majdou' Al-Qarni, stressed that these placements represent a distinguished progress in the university's performance and are the highest it has ever achieved in the two ranking categories. Ranking criteria includes the university's global outlook, the quality of its research output and research environment, and its relationship with industry and the quality of education.
Al-Qarni pointed out that the university’s performance in these categories has developed, despite the doubling of the number of Asian universities included in the ranking during the past five years, rising from 165 Asian universities in 2020, to 327 in 2024.
He affirmed the university's efforts to strengthen its position in global university rankings, striving to achieve a rank that reflects its distinguished academic performance and the quality of its diverse educational and research programs.
Al-Qarni congratulated the university's faculty members, students and employees on these achievements, stressing the university's stance in achieving its goals through its strategy in line with Asir’s Development Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
It is worth noting that King Khalid University's progress in various global rankings marks the university's continuous efforts to achieve its strategy towards global excellence, and according to a well-studied methodology to apply the best international practices.
