King Khalid University Honors Internationally Distinguished Students

King Khalid University celebrated its internationally distinguished students who excelled at the 49th Geneva International Invention Exhibition and the 2024 IPITEX World Competition in Thailand. The ceremony was held in the presence of the university's Acting President, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam.

University Vice President for Business and Community Partnership, Prof. Abdullatif bin Ibrahim Al-Hudaithi, delivered a speech at the beginning of the ceremony, thanking the Acting President for his attendance. He said "We are gathered today to honor eight of our students who represented the university at the Geneva International Invention Exhibition and the IPITEX World Competition and deservedly won gold and silver medals."

Al-Hudaithi added, "What my sons and daughters Raghad, Hasil, Naif, Rayan, Shaima, Shaima, Maram, and Rimaz have achieved is a reflection of the generous giving and dedication to science, innovation, and talent that the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has provided to build a globally competitive Saudi citizen."

He continued, "Those who follow the university's great strides, successive achievements, and its advancing position in international rankings know the distinction of this blessed university, which has drawn its path towards global excellence with the support of His Royal Highness the Governor of Asir, and the tireless and dedicated efforts of the university administration and its affiliates who work diligently to empower the university's name on the global map."

He said, "The Business and Community Partnership Agency will continue to embrace talented and innovative students and entrepreneurs, create systems that highlight them, and spread this culture. We will also continue to encourage them to participate in local and international competitions”.

Following that, the Acting President of the university honored the winning students and the supporting entities, including A number of faculty members. The honoring ceremony concluded with a discussion session to discuss the students’ projects.

The honors included:

  • Gold medal winner for the project (Traffic Safety Enhancement System on Roads Using Modern Technologies), by student Hasil Muhammad Al-Asmari, College of Education.

  • Gold medal winner for the project (Utilizing Natural Resources in the Manufacture of Supercapacitors to Reduce Cost and Protect the Environment), by student Naif Ali Al-Qahtani, College of Engineering.

  • Gold medal winner for the project (Advanced Aircraft Docking Guidance System Using Artificial Intelligence), by student Raghad Abdullah Al-Odaid, College of Engineering.

  • Silver medal winners for the project (Artificial Intelligence in Eye Expression Detection of Patterns and States of Students in Classrooms), by students: Shaima Muhammad Al-Qarni, College of Business. Maram Ouad Al-Qahtani, and Shaima Hamoud Al-Asiri, College of Computer Science. Rimaz Faisal Al-Ghamdi, College of Computer Science.

  • Silver medal winner for the (Medical Bed project), by student Rayan Muhammad Al-Qahtani, College of Medicine.
