Since its establishment, the General Facilities Management at King Khalid University has become a model that draws the path of quality and excellence in providing essential services that ensure an optimal educational and working environment for university students, faculty members and staff.
The vision of the General Facilities Management revolves around adopting a scientific and engineering methodology to ensure the implementation of work in a distinguished manner according to accurate standards and measures. The General Facilities Management is based on a set of basic values such as cooperation, quality, justice, integrity, and teamwork, which form the basis for achieving its goals and directing its workflow towards excellence and continuity.
The scope of work of the General Facilities Management includes the university city in Al-Fara'a, all academic complexes, and governorate complexes from Dhaharan Al-Janoub to Tanumah Governorate. Green spaces at King Khalid University are an essential part of the project to improve the quality of university life. The Facilities Management is concerned with organizing and maintaining these spaces periodically and accurately, including irrigation, pruning, and fertilization, to ensure the continuous growth of plants and the brilliance of green spaces throughout the year, as it provides distinguished efforts in caring for green spaces, with an area of more than 400 thousand square meters, This includes sports fields, gardens, medians, and roundabouts.
The General Manager of the General Facilities Management, Mr. Mohammad bin Ali Al-Asmari, confirmed that the department regularly and systematically addresses visual distortions and improves the university environment through a set of improvement, beautification and development works, including the creation of green spaces, gardens and squares equipped with seating areas and preparing them for all visitors. It also guarantees the preservation of the quality of facilities and buildings through preventive maintenance, which includes inspecting devices and equipment periodically and repairing defects.
Facilities Management places occupational safety and health at the top of its priorities, and therefore works diligently to qualify its human cadres at a high level of efficiency in crisis management and protecting lives and property. It strives to control and prevent risks and reduce their effects, by applying the highest standards of occupational safety and health and continuous training for employees. It takes strict measures to ensure compliance with food safety standards and ensures the health and safety of students and staff in all university facilities.
The General Facilities Management’s (Movement Management) plays a pivotal role in vehicle management operations and meeting the university's need for vehicles, by receiving guests and providing logistical support in all events and celebrations.
As well as the (Support Services Management), which provides technical support to all departments by supervising the facilities operations center, ensuring service requests approvals, and referring them to the designated departments. It also supervises agricultural and irrigation work, as well as office equipment maintenance and event operations.
The General Facilities Management, recently obtained a building compliance certificate from the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing. This comes as a culmination of the university's efforts in applying global building standards and requirements.
