Acting University President Sponsors the First Forum for Media and Communication Students and Launches Accompanying Exhibitions

Under the patronage of the Acting President of King Khalid University Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, the College of Arts and Humanities, organized the “First Forum for Media and Communication Students”, represented by the Department of Media and Communication. Deans and representatives of the government and the private sector were present at the forum.
Bin Dajam stressed that students’ conferences are a vital part of scientific work, stating, "It is important to have their organized framework, performance indicators and clear goals that go beyond just holding a meeting to ensure clear inputs and outputs of value and impact, whether in knowledge, skill, or research methodology."
Bin Dajam toured the accompanying exhibition, where students presented innovative and diverse projects that highlight their skills and creativity in the field of media and communication. Bin Dajam praised the efforts of the students, and added that such initiatives will equip the students with the necessary skills to keep up with the needs of the labor market and achieve excellence in their fields.
For his part, Dr. Khalid Abu Hikma, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, affirmed the college's commitment to organizing conferences, in order to achieve the university's goals in education and scientific research, and to strengthen the students' belonging to the educational institution; Referring to the importance of strengthening and developing scientific research skills among students in all stages of study.
For his part, the Head of the Department of Media and Communication, Dr. Ali Al-Zaher Al-Qahtani, explained that the forum is an important platform for exchanging ideas and knowledge in the field of media, and reflects the commitment to strengthening scientific research and developing media skills among students.
several discussion sessions were organized for MA students in the tourism media path, the crisis communication path, and the language and media path, dealing with important issues in the field of media and communication, and the latest developments, as well as reviewing the challenges and opportunities facing the media industry at the present time, including a session on tourism media issues; Which discussed the importance of tourism media and its role in enhancing cultural awareness and promoting tourist destinations.
The second session, "Crisis Communication: Local and International Experiences", reviewed local and international experiences in managing media crises, and how to deal with emergencies and the challenges they pose in media and communication; Where experiences and knowledge were exchanged on best practices in this field and lessons learned from previous experiences.
This was followed by a session on language and media; Which dealt with the relationship between language and the media, and the impact of language on shaping and interpreting media information and messages. As well as the importance of using language accurately and effectively in the media and the impact it can have on public understanding and interaction.
To conclude the forum, the Scientific Forum Committee issued important recommendations aimed at enhancing the quality of education and developing the skills of students and students in this field.
