College of Arts and Humanities Organizes the Third Graduate Studies Conference

On behalf of His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, the Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Hamid bin Majdou Al-Qarni, patroned the Third Graduate Studies Conference at the College of Arts and Humanities, entitled "Humanities and Sustainable Development" at the Exhibitions and Conferences Center in Al-Fara’a University City.
Al-Qarni, alongside and a number of deans and university affiliates toured the accompanying exhibition, in which researchers presented 36 different scientific papers. Al-Qarni praised the efforts made and the scientific innovations that were presented.
The conference focused on three main points: First, it discussed human relations, followed by the role of humanities in economy and sustainable development, and finally, a discussion panel was held to talk about humanities in light of Saudi Vision 2030.
During the conference, the Vice-President of King Khalid University for Business and Community Partnership, Prof. Abdul-latif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, presented a paper on the role of humanities in economy and sustainable development, in which he reviewed the importance of humanities and its role in achieving Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
The conference included nine scientific papers over two sessions moderated by Dr. Nasser Al-Zabna and Dr. Yahya Al-Latini. The papers were presented by a group of specialists in various fields and topics, including:
The importance of Islamic sciences in light of Saudi Vision 2030, presented by the Dean of the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, Prof. Mohammad bin Ali Al-Qarni.
Education and Saudi Vision 2030 by Dr. Abeer Al-Shehri.
“Vital Society” and Vision 2030 by Dr. Mohammad Muhyi,
Tourism translation and Vision 2030 by Dr. Issa Al-Almaei,
The outputs of the Department of Geography and the needs of the labor market by Dr. Amrah Al-Qahtani.
The overlap of media with other specializations by Dr. Issa Al-Mustaneer.
Concepts and terminology in humanities by Dr. Ahmed Al-Merie
The future of humanities specializations by Prof. Fawzi Arif.
The Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Khalid Abu Hikma, explained the importance of humanities in building civilizations and creating intellectual awareness in societies, stressing the role of humanities in developing economy and sustainable development, saying: "We did not limit ourselves in this conference to the specializations within the college, instead we involved a group of humanities researchers from other colleges”.
To conclude the event, the Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Hamed bin Majdou Al-Qarni, honored the participants in the Third Graduate Studies Conference.
