The University Launches the Dual Enrollment and Academic Acceleration Program
King Khalid University - General Administration of Institutional Communication
King Khalid University launched the "Dual Enrollment and Academic Acceleration" program for high school gifted students, in cooperation with the General Administration for Education in Asir. The launch ceremony was held at the Medical Conferences Center in Al-Fara'a University City.
The President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, and the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, both attended the event, alongside the General-Director of Education in Asir, Mr. Fahad bin Saleh Aqala. Deans, High school students, and students' families were all in attendance.
The program aims to enrich educational integration between the public sector and higher education, facilitate the high school-to-college transitional stage, and diversify educational opportunities. As well as improve the quality of the educational system, and accelerate graduation (Academic acceleration).
On his part, His Excellency, explained that the university is currently working on various projects, in partnership with the General Administration of Education in Asir. While the Vice-President of Academic affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam explained that in conjunction with the Ministry of Education's vision, the university ensures to provide the proper educational opportunities, in support of gifted high school students.
In the same context the General-Director of Education in Asir, Mr. Fahad bin Saleh Aqala, expressed his appreciation for the university and its employees for launching this program. He added that this program comes in conjunction with other programs that care for the development of human capabilities, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The event included a visual presentation for the students and their families, presented by the Vice-President of Admission and Registration, Dr. Aliyah Al-Aryani. She highlighted the services provided by the program, and explained that the program targets students in the second and third year of high school. Students can register in various programs, including the Arabic Language Program, the Moderation Program, and an additional optional program. Students can also register in three college-level programs, through academic acceleration.
On his end, the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Qahtani, thanked His Excellency, the President of the University, and the General-Director of Education in Asir for launching such programs that benefit students immensely.
The Director of the Talent and Innovation Unit, Dr. Jameela Al-Rawi welcomed students to the program, as she stated, "we are happy to announce the launch of the dual enrollment and academic acceleration program, which is one of the leading programs established by King Khalid University. This program aims to help students adapt to university life and will enable them to study college programs, while completing their high school education".
Al-Rawi added that the Talent and Innovation Unit at the Deanship of Students' Affairs is a supporting and invigorating environment for all students, as it provides special care for gifted students and allows them to participate in specialized programs. As well as providing academic support to prepare innovative students for national and international competition.
