The University Launches the "Women and Children" Initiative in Al-Majardah

King Khalid University, represented by the Applied College in Al-Majardah, launched the "Women and Children" initiative in conjunction with the start of the tourism and winter festival in the province of Al-Majardah, which was inaugurated yesterday evening by the acting governor of Al-Majardah, Thamer Al-Marzouqi.
Dr. Maha bint Mohammed Al-Shahri, the CEO of the Applied College in Al-Majardah, explained that the initiative, to be implemented through the "Women and Children Center" in the province, has received support from His Excellency, the University President, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Solami. It aligns with the strategic goals of King Khalid University 2030, in harmony with the development strategy of the Asir region. The initiative aims to provide valuable and impactful services for women and children in the province, seeking to develop and empower a society based on active and genuine participation of its targeted groups through programs empowering women and children. It also works on implementing development goals.
The initiative aims to design and implement educational and training programs for women and children, including vocational training, assistance in finding job opportunities, educating mothers, childcare, enhancing mental and physical health, organizing workshops, seminars, and lectures on women and children's issues, providing counselling services for those in need of support, and offering programs for children that enhance their social, psychological, and educational skills.
The "Women and Children Center" includes a health club for women, programs for autistic children, a readable and visual women's library, lecture halls, training course rooms, study rooms for reinforcement lessons, a closed playroom for billiards and tennis, a women's café, a traditional tent to host the elderly, and a permanent exhibition for the products of productive families.
Al-Shahri, expressed her gratitude to the governor of Al-Majardah, Thamer Al-Marzouqi, and the mayor of the province, Ahmed Al-Arabi, for their support to the center and the initiative.
