9th Culture Olympics (Silver Jubilee Edition)

King Khalid University held the closing ceremony for the Ninth Culture Olympics (Silver Jubilee Edition) organized by the Deanship for Students' Affairs. His Excellency, University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, attended the ceremony, alongside the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohmmad bin Dajam.

The Dean of the Deanship for Students' Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Mosfer Al-Qahtani, explained that student participation at the Culture Olympics has seen big developments recently, due to the university leadership's continued support, coupled with students' awareness of such programs and events.

This year's Culture Olympics included 19 different fields:

  1. Holy Quran Memorization.

  2. Holy Quran Recitation.

  3. Prophetic Sunna.

  4. Prophetic Biography.

  5. Public Speaking.

  6. The "Explain" Competition.

  7. Poetry Duel.

  8. Classical Poetry.

  9. Colloquial Poetry.

  10. Short Stories.

  11. Arabic Calligraphy.

  12. Painting.

  13. Representational Art.

  14. Photography.

  15. Digital Art.

  16. The "60 Seconds" Competition.

  17. The Cultural Competition.

  18. Community Service.

  19. Theatre.

Vice-President for Students' Affairs, Dr. Mona Al-Shehri, praised the university's efforts in supporting students' talents. She pointed out that in the last 8 years, we saw exceptional creative output from students. She also added that this competition is put forth to discover students' talents and to offer them the necessary encouragement.

His Excellency went on a tour of the exhibition, which displayed students' artistic contributions.

To conclude the ceremony, His Excellency awarded the top three winners of each field and honored the participating general committees and university faculty and employees. He also honored the winning colleges as follows:

  1. The College of Sharia and Religion Fundamentals

  2. The College of Nursing in Khamis Mushait.

  3. The College of Medicine.

(Females)

  1. The College of Home Economics.

  2. The College of Sharia and Religion Fundamentals.

  3. The College of Arts and Humanities.
