University President to Freshmen Students: University's Personnel and Resources are Put in Place for Your Service.

"Today we celebrate you joining the university, and tomorrow we celebrate you as leaders in the work field. The university's personnel and resources are put in place for your service". With these words, his Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Faleh bin Raja'allah Al-Solami, began his speech in front of the freshmen class of 1445 AH, in a meeting organized by the university in the Deanship of Student Affairs, Sunday morning, at the center of conventions and seminars at the city university in Al-Fara'a.

His Excellency confirmed to the freshmen students that their acceptance and admission to this university represents their first academic achievement. And that the university is proud of them and welcomes them, and deems them as partners of success, members of this institution, and contributors towards its success. He added, we look forward that the graduates of our university become competing candidates in the job market, for the journey of knowledge seekers doesn't end by the years' passing or by the end of a period; knowledge is their sustenance, glory is their purpose, and their country is waiting for them. He finally, wished the them a blessed climb to the higher ranks of glory and knowledge.

King Khalid University's vice president for academic and educational affairs, Prof. Sa'ad bin Mohammad bin Du'jam, presented a brief explanation about the university's guidelines, where he talked about the importance of rules and regulations inside the university campus by referencing the rights and duties manual, and student's discipline and behavior rules at King Khalid University, and urged students to stay informed on the matter, pointing out that the university has prepared all academic and administrative needs to transfer to two terms, to ensure providing the proper educational environment to prepare students for an exceptional college experience.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Ali bin Mosfer Al-Qahtani, said on the occasion that the deanship chose "with you.. we build the future" to be the slogan to welcome students to the university, pointing out his Excellency's guidance, as he is the biggest supporter of such events and meetings that serve students by saying "Students first", adding that today, they have started a new journey in their lives where the university will represent a foundational building block for their characters and preparing them for a bright future.

Al-Qahtani said, "I urge your discipline and that you obey the university's rules and regulations, and to work hard to reach the highest academic achievements, and to benefit from all the educational and academic resources provided to you by the university." He also renewed his invitation to participate in the extracurricular activities organized by the university, which aims to refine their skills and enrich their characters.

Following that was the launch of the orientation meeting, with an introductory session with the deans of the health colleges. After that, a presentation of the skills needed by the students in their college lives presented by the president's counsellor, Prof. Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-se'ari. Afterwards, many deanships and administrations presented highlights of their services offered to the students, like student training, professional certificates, the English language center and its services, guidance and counseling services, and the disability center; as well as the student clubs, extracurricular activities, "Muhtam" platform. Professional skills were presented by "Hadaf". The meeting also included an introduction to the university facilities, transportation, and the university security systems.

Note, that today's meeting marks the first launch of the orientation program for freshmen students in the health colleges, where it will continue until next Tuesday to include the orientation for students of science and humanitarian colleges.
